i am going to buy an ipod mini and i want to know if i should buy a skin/case for it. dont they add bulk to the ipod mini? i mean, the whole purpose of spending over $200 on a tiny little device is sorta defeated if you buy a case for it. How much weight would a case add? do you think it is worth it to buy one and which brand is best? HELP!

I've just got an iSkin, pretty neat, it's just a rubberised cover that fits like a glove, it looks just like my mini, and probably 1mm in size all over to the mini.

I second the choice for the iskin. The additional weight and width that it adds is very trivial. From everyday use, you won't really notice much of a difference, the increased weight and size don't hinder its use in any way.

The advantages of an iskin is obviously its silicon wrapping. It protects your $250 ipod from scratches and even protects the lcd screen (with the plastic cover that is). The $25 investment in the case is well worth it. Hey, It beats buying a new ipod ;)

The only downsides to the iskin are its attraction for dust and its poorly developed beltclip. The dust problem is easily rectified by wrapping a piece of tape around your finger and dabbing at all the dust. In regards to the belt clip, just simply don't use it. If you are buying a case with the intention of constantly using the belt clip, I advise looking somewhere else other than the iskin.

if you really want good protection and a tight fit chooses a skin. You may have tyo sacrifice the look of your mini. I personally like the clean look of the mini with out anything on it, so i only use my skin if i put my mini in a bag or in a high impact situation. But if your going for protection a skin is a must.
