If you want to 'Mount iPod' without actually taking it out and putting it back into the dock, and you've uninstalled the iPod Manager, is there any way to do so?

Yup...

You can reinstall iPod Manager.

Well, you can also run the 'Add Hardware' wizard from the Control Panel (I tested this under winXP just 30seconds ago and it worked) to search for new hardware, then you have to select the 'Apple iPod blah blah blah' from a list and it ends up mounting it. Then unmount it like you normally would by clicking on the icon that appears in the system tray after the iPod is mounted.

I would recommend reinstalling the iPod manager though to 'soft' mount and dismount your iPod as the process is simpler and is faster (the add hardware wizard can be slow)...

Good luck...

Gah :D Okay then... I suppose it wasn't doing any harm just being there.

No, there's another way...press the menu and pause play buttons until it resets. Then it will mount.

Don't install iPod manager...it's garbage.
