Thought this would be an interesting poll!

Only to the LCD screen really. Didn't vote since wasn't sure which would apply to my situation. I do have a case (Booq PodPaq Nappa) for my 30GB iPod... so I guess I rather not get scratches if I can help it, but as I said, it is the iPod's LCD screen that concerns me more than the iPod itself.

I care about the screen area mainly. I have a pda screen protector over that area and a Maclear case over the whole iPod itself.

i care more about battery life than scratchs, though i did get a case, but that was more so I could attach to my belt loop

Scratches are a thing of the past since my iPod's fitted snugly in a case ;-)

mp3 players are meant to be taken places. When taking electronics places, they get beat up. I care more about the functionality being consistent under constant abuse than how pretty the ipod looks from day to day. Although protection at no expense of looks would be nice...(macclear case coming in the mail)

When I first has the iPod, it was uttermost concern that the machine did not get scratched. Now it's not an issue.
I have a leather case, so it doesnt get scratched much.

Regardless if my iPod has a case or not, i DO NOT want ANY scratches on something (ANYthing) that costs 400 dollars.
Yes, the funtionality is what concerns me THE MOST, but this is one porduct that was designed for the stylist in mind. It's so darn pretty, it's like carying a nice piece of jewelry. Actually, i would compare the iPod to a very expensive, Tag Huer or Movado type watch. To me, a watch (or any timepiece) is essential for everday carry. And just like any expensive watch, you try your best not to scuff it up too much. Scratches on a watch are inevitable of course, but for an iPod, it has SO MANY options for protection that you might as well use 'em. Would you walk around with a Rolex with a scratched or broken lens? I woudn't.
BTW, if you couldn't tell, i voted YES. :)

Big ugly ones? Yes. Little fine ones? No.

I don't like little scratches on my iPod. That's why I no longer use the case that came with my iPod.

Yeah hate the scratches but only on the screen because most things can get replaced for the ipod

But i hate the big scratches.

I haven't got any huge scratches on my iPod (..yet) but there are some little ones that annoy me. But I'm clumsy with things so its inevitable that my iPod will get all scratched up.. I think I'll get a case for it :)

I care about scratches mainly on the LCD. I think they're pretty much inevitable...so I'll get over it :D Maybe its time for a case??

My mate said to me recently - "if it doesn't have scratches, it means you're hardly using it, or you're being too precious about it" - I reckon once you have your first few scratches, you stop caring :)

I am so over protective, I bought the DLO Case (with the cutouts for Touch Keys) at the same time as the 15Gig'er, and I put it in the case with gloves on... Trying to avoid scratching my baby at ANY cost. But fookin dust particles touching my baby and causing those annoying barely noticeable scratches... My boy ordered the Ice Cream, so I'm looking for better means of protection, such as a Skin along with Saran Wrap aka iCondom.

My case started to scratch the back of MiPod when I brought it to the gym. I wish I would have known that was going to happen, I would have bought a different case. Oh well, I guess it was bound to happen sometime right?

My iPod is a mess. It's been dropped, it's been scratched to a dull metal surface, and it keeps working like a horse! It gets used non-stop, and it looks like it. The only thing that bothers me is that my touch wheel is grimey and dirty, in spite of the fact that I wash my hands hourly. I don't understand where that dirt is from. Oh well.

It doesn't really bother me, except the ones on the screen.

Yes because right now it's not even a week old and if I scratch it I'm not going to be too happy.

Only on the lcd...anywhere else is alright...battle scars build character.
