Wanted to tell everyone about the issue I had with my new 15 GB iPod.
I got it a few days ago for my birthday. However, the first time I plugged it in it froze after a few songs got transferred (and those songs got transferred REALLY quickly), and the iPod kept making the same rythm where the HD would buzz, click, buzzzz click, and kept going on like that in an infinite loop. I called apple the very next day, and they thought that it might be a bad HD. I am currently awaiting the box to ship it back to them so that they can do testing :( , as it is the first time that they have heard of this problem.
I plugged it in about an hour ago, and what it now does is it reboots into scandisk mode, runs through while doing that painful buzzzz click sound. It would do it for about 15 minutes, then reboot. If it was still connected, it would do it again. It is officially borked.
I don't blame Apple at all. After waiting about 5 minutes for it to boot up, I was thrilled when I was playing with what I could on the iPod (the games, the settings, etc.). Besides, Apple only makes the device, not the hard drive. There is no way that I am ever going to consider another device. I had an Archos 6 GB hard drive, which is a BRICK that uses USB to transfer files. It won't even work with my mac!
Has anyone else had this problem with their iPod?
