I'm looking for a case to mostly protect my IPod (4G)when workingout. I was going to go with the Opod but now I did some searching around on here and the Showcase one looks a bit smaller and nicer. Which one would be better the OPod or the Showcase?

The Contour Showcase is the most heralded hard case by far on these forums. Everyone seems to praise it (i'm not too huge a fan of hard cases, but to each his/her own) so at least with the Showcase, you know that you're not getting junk because there have been plenty testimonials to how nice it is.

Conversly, i've never even heard of the Opod; so I guess you should go with what you know. The widespread use of the Showcase should show you it's a reputable seller and they're not selling junk.

Go with the showcase I think, the opod is wicked long and clumsy looking. Might also want to look at the matias ipodarmor (do a google search).

Another one to consider is the LiliPod hard case:

Great protection for the iPod, but it will make it tough to change tracks or control the iPod.

I was lurking about the boards, and decided to get one of the Contour Showcase cases for my iPod. I love it, and I am a hard customer to please. It was a toss up between the evo and the showcase, but I have to admit, I like the added protection of having the extra barrier of protective plastic surrounding my music machine. I don't believe the evo would protect my investment much should I have the ghastly experience of dropping it.

I wasn't expecting the outer covering to be rubberized, but man, I have got to say the name "Showcase" definitely is perfect. The asthetic beauty of the iPod is reserved, and as read another post, "It looks like a little tuxedo". That is, if you choose the black case. I chose that color due to the fact that I didn't want dirt to show up on the outside.

Sign me as a very satisfied customer. Don't delay, get one today.

My iPod armor arrived today. The fit is good and I feel confident about my iPod's safety. Two issues are that the exterior is still 3G styled, not that I care, and that there is one place where hard plastic makes contact with the iPod metal. This happens on the very top, between the headphone jack and the hold switch.

I'm going to snip up an extra iShield I have and apply that to the top. I've spent so much money already in protecting this thing that any little breech in safety is huge deal.
