Ipod On the go, for my car...

i dont want to buy a cd player for my car as i already have an ipod that has all hte music.... i want something to link to the ipod and play music.

currently i have an cassette adapater, but i heard that takes away from the music quality.

same with the fm transmitter, loses quality.

i've been hearing people use "icelink" and someway use alpine to hook up the ipod? Could somebody go into further detail? and $?
