Ive just read a FAQ about the burn in process. the aurthor stated that burned or used headphones sound better than brand new ones. The process requires 100 hours of continuous music playing at normal volume or slightly higher volume (recommended by the aurthor) can someone tell me more about this? Thanks.

There's two components to burn-in. Mechanical burn-in, which is the headphone drivers loosening up over time. It is relevant on some phones and it's less relevant on others. The other is the 'burning in' that your brain does to get used to the sound of the phones.
The mechanical part of burn-in isn't relevant if you have an Etymotic ER-4, Shure E3c or any other phone with a balanced armature. If you feel the sound is changing on these phones, it's solely due to the second burn-in component I mentioned.
