Hi,
I'm a new member and this is my first post so be gentle.
I recently bought a 4G 20gb iPod :)
I use it to listen to movie soundtracks by various composers (my passion) and use Apple lossless when converting for maximum sound quality.
I use Koss "The Plug" in-the-ear earphones which I have owned for about 3yrs now and find them so much better than the standard earphones usually supplied with most portable audio's.

Recently I have came across Shure e2c's being discussed in various places and I am contemplating shelling out ??60.00 for a pair but want to be sure they are worth it.
Will the sound quality be much better than my Koss phones or is the difference not worth the money and I should stick to my Koss's?
Ideally what I'm looking for is the experiences of someone who has tried both.
Thanks.

I haven't heard The Plug but by all indications, it's a really bad phone. Moving up to the E2c would certainly be a huge jump in terms of quality. It's definitely worth it, too, especially if you're encoding in Apple Lossless. The Plug is really a waste.

I would make one recommendation, though. Considering the type of music and the fact that you're using lossless, stepping up to the E3c would be a good move. Yes, it's a lot more money... but the E3c's instrument separation is considerably better than the E2c and the bass is much tighter.

Even the Sony 71's and 51's are alot better than 'The Plug' (although Ive never used them but heard they really suck). You would definately be surprised in the sound quality difference,I hope to maybe get some E2c's after christmas with money I get from people,so Ill probably see if im missing anything, but If you can afford it,lose the plugs and get some Shure's.
