It was $90. You press 1, Search and you get your Playlists. Press 2, Search and you get your Artisrts. Press 3, Search and you get your Albums.
After one of the above choices, use the dial to scroll thru then press the dial to make your choice.
When the iPod is plugged in, "Alpine" reads on the iPod display.
When you enter into your playlists, you can see 3 playlists at a time on the Alpine 9835.
I use the remote control to go thru the songs, etc.
Whats really nice about it is the iPod stays in your glove compartment, etc. There it will stay in perfect condidtion, & you never have to hide it when getting out of your car, etc.
I have dedicated the 40 gig click wheel iPod for my truck. It only comes out when syncing.
For travel, jogging, etc I will use the my mini.
