Anyone who has a PIE adapter or any aux adapter please help me out.
So I finally got sick of the cassette adapter and decided to get the PIE adapter for my 2004 4Runner. My cousin did virtually all the work in installing the adapter and we finally got to test it 3 hours later. We turned the power on the car but not the engine and wa-lah the adapter works. The display shows Disc 1 Track 00 or something.
Then while it was still playing, we turned the engine on. Suddenly my head unit doesn't see the adapter anymore. I press the DISC button to turn on the CD player/changer but it doesn't work. Then I turn the engine and head unit off and leave the power on, I press the DISC button and now it works.
I turn everything off now. Now I go straight to turning the engine on. I press the DISC button and now it works. This is getting weird. I need some answers!
Does my iPod have to be on and connected to the RCA cables in order for the head unit to recognize it? Has anyone else seen this problem in their cars?
