XP Pro SP2 Connectivity problem 5gb ipod

Everytime I plug in my 5gb iPod into my Windows XP Pro SP2 firewire connection, the Apple logo comes up, then says OK to disconnect, with a check mark.

I unplug, and it works fine. I just want to charge it, and add song songs...

I've reset it (Holding Menu + play button) many times, but it still does the same thing. No iTunes, but EphPod & vPod.

The drive does NOT show up under Windows Explorer.
