Hi,

I would like to buy a set of headphones that meets as many of the following conditions as possible.

1. I would like them to be as versatile as possible. I would like to be able to use them while running or while on a bus or while simply at home late at night.

2. I would like to be able to use them for a long time, if necessary, without them becoming uncomfortable. It would be great if I could sleep while wearing them.

3. I would like them to have the best sound quality possible while still meeting the other conditions.

4. I would like them to be reasonably priced.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Try the Sportapros by Koss. They provide the best sound for the price except for its cousin Koss KSC-35 (but those are clip ons not verticals). The EX71 do not fit your needs as they are not vertical, poor sound quality, and not that cheap.

Shure E2's. Sound quality is MUCH better than the the sony's, and better than the Koss too--although the Koss aren't bad. The Shure's are a magnitude of quality better than both the Koss and the EX's--they'll run you about $80.00, but are well worth it IMHO.

They are extremely comfortable--you have 6 different included earplugs to chose from--and sound fantastic. Great for working out. You do have to spend a little time figuring out proper fit and installation, but once you figure it out, they're easy to put in. IMHO, this is currently the best earphone available for working out, especially if you desire isolation...

Thanks for the info so far, guys.

MadDog5145, I meant to say "Versatile" not "Vertical." Sorry about the bad spelling.

Another vote for the E2. Cheap & cheerful.
