Hello everybody,

This is my first post on this forum. I've been reading post though for over a year and really like this site.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to install my Ipod on a 04 Jetta with the double din Monsoon system?

Right now I have a tape adapter and my Belkin auto kit. I used this same setup in my old sebring and it worked great. I hardwired an extra cig lighter in it and hid under the center console. I then ran the tape adapter cord under the console to the belkin kit. From there ran the dock cord out of the ash tray (I don't smoke).

However, in my Jetta I can't hide the cord from the tape adapter proficently. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Post some pics of your interior and I can offer you an idea based on them.

Trying to help, just have no idea what a Jetta interior looks like.

bhb399mm: I've seen your install on many sites. Very nice.

I'm looking to keep my stock head unit. After market radios just don't look the same. However, because my head unit is the Double Din monsoon radio, I've had trouble finding something that will work.

I have the belkin auto kit with sony tape adapter, belkin fm modulator, and the monster charger and fm modulator. The belkin auto kit has a slight hiss. The tape adapter clicks loud every few seconds. And the fm modulator sounds terrible.

Any thoughts.

I've got a Golf. I'd really suggest doing a direct in type install. You will get much better sound. I too used a tape adapter for a month or so, but it really sucked. You will need to get an adapter to plug into your CD Changer port - either in your trunk or behind your HU. Blitzsafe makes one - go to http://enfig.com and the guy there puts together a "kit" for you with the Blitzsafe adapter for your HU, a car charger and all the neccesary cables. I am using a VWPIC adapter that some guy custom made and it plugs into my trunk. It works great, but sadly the guy is no longer making them. Good luck! Also, check out http://vwvortex.com - the owner of Enfig is a member on the forums there and he'll help you out - check the Car Audio Technical forum.

leonowj9:

use the Blitzsafe VW/AUX DMX V.5 (http://www.blitzsafe.com/blitz_catalog/blitz_aux/blitz_aux_list/blitz_volkswagen/blitz_volkswagen.html) to create a pair of RCA inputs. If you have a cd changer, it will no longer work. (which you wont care about with your ipod in your car anyway). to play your ipod, you'll hit CD changer, and your ipod will play. i used the blitzsafe adapter on my R32 install, and my girlfriends civic install. its a great product. get the VW radio removal tools from your dealer and you're set.
