View Full Version : How to put contacts, calenders on a Windows' iPod 4G

Hi, I understand that sync'ing my contacts, calenders is easy on a Mac. You simply use iSync. However, on a Windows XP PC, how do I put contacts and calenders on my iPod? Thanks much!

I've been using iPod Agent. It's still beta but it's free and works pretty well.

If you don't want to spend any money on a third party app you can do it directly from Outlook or Outlook Express.

Connect your iPod to your PC.
Open Outlook (or Express).
Open the record (contact or calender event) that you want to save to the iPod.
Use File / Save As to convert the record to a vCard.
Save to either the Calender or Contact's directory on your iPod.

The problem with this method is that you can olnly do each record individually. If you only want to save a few records it's fine.

I use outlook to do my contacts and calendar and then use the ipod agent to sync all of it for me. Works great so far.

I believe you can also enable the iPod to be used as a harddrive, and drag files onto it.

Hi K1W1,

I didn't realize that I can export calendar events into vCard. That's cool.

My outlook has the option of saving the calendar event as an iCalendar file, would this be more optimal than a vCard?

how do I locate the Calendar folder on my iPod? Is it through iTunes that I sync it or do I have to enable disk use somehow then find the folder and drag & drop?

Enable disk use then you will have a drive with a Directory called "Calendar".
