Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. please, please can someone help. this is driving me nuts!!!!!
Basically, when I first sync'ed my ipod 4g 20Gb it was like super fast, a couple of songs a second being transferred. second time around and it can take up to 30 seconds per song!!!
anyone had this problem before?
I tried various things like uninstalling, restoring iPod etc but no luck. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the usb port thinks its usb1.1 or something. does it usually take about 30 seconds per song using usb1.1? if thats the case then at least I know that that is the problem. Anyone?????

WindowsXP - SP1
Apple iPod 4G 20Gb
USB 2.0
latest iTunes
latest iPod software

I have now uninstalled iTunes and the iPod software, installed Windows SP2 and then reinstalled iTunes and the iPod software but still auto-sync is really slow. Anyone?

I have no idea what the problem is. You can set the iPod to manual and just drag the songs onto it.

auto-sync-ing over usb1 is indeed way slower than usb 2.

what kind of usb 2 port is your iPod connected to: motherboard or an add-on PCI card? is your iPod directly connected to the usb port or via a hub? in that case you have to ensure you're using a usb 2 hub...

Thanks for your response guys.
I tried to switch the iPod to manual sync but it so just as slow so no luck there.
the usb port is most definitely usb2.0 as have checked through the control panel and it says 'Enhanced'. It is a motherboard usb port so might this be the problem? Anyone had that problem before?

Thanks.
