I have a variation on the "not talking to the computer" problem which doesn't seem to have been covered here...
One day the iPod mounted up fine (new click wheel version on windows xp computer via USB) - it was recognised by iTunes and transfered music like it was supposed to - the next day I connected it the same way and it only displays the "do not disconnect" message. The computer recognises there's something plugged into it and you can access folders from the computer - but iTunes doesn't recognise it and you can't transfer music to it. No matter what you do it just says "do not disconnect" unless you eject it.
I've tried resetting it and I've read through the trouble-shooting documents and these forums.
Any ideas anyone? I expect its something blindingly obvious that only an idiot would miss. :) ?
