For almost a year now, I've used the shure e2's almost exclusively. I found the sound quality very good and liked the in-ear design. However, the left phone began to cut in and out while I was at the jim on friday, and eventually stopped working altogether. I've found that I can get sound for a second or two by moving it back and forth, but that's it. I guess I'll be sending them in and hopefully I'll get them back fairly quickly. However, I realized that I have no real substitute for them. I have an old pair of sony over-the-ear headphones which sound pretty good but not as good as the shures. I can't decide whether to get a new set of headphones or more in-the-ear phones. The only thing I don't like about the shures is that putting them in and taking them out again can be a pain. They're great when I want to leave them in for a long time, but having to keep taking them out in order to talk to people can become annoying. I'm thinking about getting an over-the-ear type phone and hopefully getting the shures back fairly quickly, and was wondering if you could recommend anything. I listen to mostly hard rock and metal. The sonys I have are actually decent, but not as clear as the shures. The base on the sonys is good when I plug them into a stereo but not on the iPod. The shures seemed to produce much better base from the iPod. If you could give me any recommendations to point me in the right direction I'd really apreciate it. Thanks in advance.
