I love sloving riddles, so decided to start up this thread. Eveyone post thier riddles (the more difficult the better) and everyone can have a shot at answering. If people dont want the answers posted as it will ruin the fun for them, PM the riddle-er (me, in this case) for the answer. Or, when posting the answer, write 'SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER' at the top, to give each other warning.
First riddle...
Three men had a meal that cost ??30. They each decide to split the cost evenly and pay ??10 each. The waiter then takes the money away to the till. On his way, the manager tells the waiter that he has overcharged the three men by ??5. So, the waiter takes out five ??1 coins from the till. Now, slightly disgruntled, the waiter steals two of these ??1's and puts them in his pocket. He gives the other three ??1's to each of the men.
So, having given in ??10, then being given back ??1, each man has paid ??9 each.
3 x ??9 is ??27, plus the ??2 in the waiters pocket, which equals ??29. (not the original ??30)
Where has the last ??1 gone?
(if anyone can post this riddle in a clearer form, please do...i can hardly remember it.)
enjoy :)
