I've ordered my first iPod today, 4G 20GB. Unfortunately the delivery to the UK will be 2-3 weeks! - But I'm sure it'll be worth it!

I'd like to buy some speakers for my PC. I'd also like to be able to hook up other things, such as my iPod, DVD player and possibly my actual TV. The iPod set me back a bit, so I only have roughly ??100 to spend on speakers..

Can anyone recommend me anything? I'd prefer all around sound (not necessarily surround sound, as my room is rather small and I'll never be in one set place..) I'd like as much auxiliary jacks as possible, ideally I'd like to be able to hook up (in order) my PC, TV, iPod, DVD Player, VCR..

Please, if anyone can help I'd be grateful!

Also, I don't have a HIFI system or anything.. Which is why I'd like something like this for my room.. :)

Creative makes a nice set, the i-Trigue L3450, which has an aux-in jack on the control pod. My friend has a similar set and they sound fantastic.

Edit: I meant the L3450, not 3350.

I'll take that as a no then.. Thanks anyway..

Doesn't have to be PC speakers though.. Could be a home HI-FI or something..

Anyone?

Sorry to bring back an old thread (and thus triple posting - sorry), but I should be getting some money within the next few days and I'd really like something decent to listen to music to in my room.

Does anyone else know anything?

I haven't heard them myself, but I've read lots of good feedback on the Klipsch PC speakers. You can sometimes get good closeout deals on them on the Klipsch site.

Good luck!

From what it sounds like, you need an amp, speaker systems listed (although I haven't seen them) are likely to only have the one input, thus you having to swap it round each time you want to listen to a new device. An amp will most definately give you better sound quality as its a dedicated device, and then you link up speakers you purchased separately. Although this can be pricey (my amp alone cost ??150) you can pick up some good deals most of the time.

I see you're located in the UK, so go to www.richersounds.com

Thats where I got my amp from, and saved something like ??100 on it. so its definately worth checking out, then, for your speakers, go to a second hand shop, i picked up mint condition 70W speakers for ??30 that compliment my amp nicely, I only use it for my iPod and PC, but it means you can always add stuff to it when you get the money, like, CD, tuner, DVD etc.

Its worth checking out separate systems, they are defiantely better in the long run

Until I put a gallery together I didn't realise just how many speakers there are out there that match well with an ipod.

Look HERE! (http://ipodstudio.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=504)

I've just got myself an almost new Yamaha AX-396 (http://www.richersounds.com/index.php?f=itemdetl.php&p=201818) amp (w/ 6 inputs - great!), 2 almost new black 75 watt Wharfedale Diamond's, and 2 brand new 150 watt JBL Control 1 (http://www.fullcompass.com/Products/pages/SKU--11600/)'s.

It's my uncle's job to install sound systems for large companies, in stores, and in homes etc. So I got it all for nothing! As you could probably guess, I'm now a very happy guy!
