Sorry in advance. I searched (get an error...)... I browsed. Nothing. I'm tired.

I'd appreciate some help. I just got a 4G 20GB iPod, I'm very happy with it. Got the bulk of my collection on board, and now I want to know if I can use Windows Explorer to drag 'n drop misc. files from my PC and use the pod as a portable hard drive.

If possible, can I just create a folder or two in there and start doing it? Will other computers, for example, at work, need to have iTunes or the iPod installations on them?

Thanks in advance

Dont hate if this has been posted in advance,...

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61131 set the iPod to 'manually manage songs and playlists'. This will stop the iPod from auto sync'ng as well. You will be able to drag-n-drop files onto the HD of the iPod. You should be able to use the iPod as a HD w/o installing the disk but if you want to use the iPod w/ your work computer to play or download music then install the disk.
