i use windows xp and want to transfer my contacts from microsoft outlook onto my ipod but can't figure out how. i have read you simply have to drag and drop vcf files into the contacts folder on the ipod but i can't even find vcf files.

I haven't figured that out either so I just made a txt file in the notes section with my contacts ;\

It's a no brainer.

IpodAgent found in the downloads section of this siite.
Easy to use software. Worked the first time. Have had no trouble. I update every few days.

OK, I haven't done this, but I *think* it would go something like this:
1) open outlook
2) go to address book
3) highlight required contacts
4) click file > export as vcard

or something like that. I would check it for you but whenever I open outlook it wipes my yahoo account of all it's emails.

smirf83 is almost correct.
First you need to connect your IPod to your PC. When connected if you use Windows Explorer you will see that the IPod has a directory call "Contacts".

Open Outlook
Open the contact you want to export
Click on File / Save as and select vcard
Save the file to the Contacts directory on the IPod.

You do the same for calendar entries expect you save them to the Calander directory on the IPod

You can only do one contact / calander entry at a time using Outlook so it's very time intensive but if you look around this site you will see several utilities that will automate the procedure.
