I have had the Carbon iSkin for my past two iPods (2G and 3G), but I wanted something different this time, so I let my kids decided whbat to get for my 4G. They wanted me to get the Wasabi because it looked "cool". I couldn't decided between the Wasabi and the Lava cases, so I decided to get Wasabi..

I picked up Sonic for myself and Ghost for my brother. They'll probably take a long while to get here since I ordered them the day after they were ready for pre-order.

My Wasabi order came in today and I already have it installed on my 20Gb iPod. A few things about the case:

1. They didn't put a bevel edge around the scroll wheel (does it really need it?)

2. The screen protector has changed once again. There are 4 "sticky spots" (kind of like drops of glue) on each of the corners. It still raises the screen up off of the iPod display, but it definately holds it securely! Once it is in place it is staying there, but it is kind of a bear to get it in place. You cannot slide it around very easily to move it, you have to lift it off of the screen to reposition it. Once it is in place, it kind of gives the screen opening a "rounded" corner look.

3. The disc on the inside holding the belt clip in place isn't a felt style disc anymore, it is kind of like a "thick plastic" disc which is slightly sticky (again to keep your iPod from moving around and scratching the back), but again it is slightly cumbersome to "slide" the 'Pod into the case.

4. The Wasabi case is definately cool! My wife and kids loved the glow in the dark feature of the case.

5. My case came with the iSkin zip case as well to store cables, iTrip, etc in it.

6. Packaging wasn't nearly as nice as the EVO packaging.

7. Top control openings haven't change, they still have the same space around the openings as the EVO case. The iTrip, iTalk still attach with no problems.

I am glad to finally have the case on my 4G iPod and now I can really show it off to people. Before, it looked kind of funny inside the 3G case with all of the buttons in the wrong place.

how this is the iSkin Evo2?? I'm seriously debating between getting the iSkin or waiting for the Lajos... the lajo seems so cool. Everything is covered, even the scroll wheel.

Now, the exoflp is 2 mm thick, which makes the iPod pretty beefy. The exo 3+ is only 0.7 mm thick, which is amazing, it's so thin. The regular exo 3 is somewhere inbetween... like 1.2 or 1.5 mm.

2 mm is way too thick for me, so I want to know, how thick is the evo2?? I can't find the thickness anywhere on these forums or on their website. Thickness will be my determining factor unless someone can tell me right now why iSkin is better than Lajo.

Should be here mid this week.

You can't. Ordering from istore instead of Iskin means you have to wait for them to fill their pre orders before supplying istore with any skins. The Iskin status is for their online store not istore.

i ordered my iskin the day that the preorder started (actually just before they posted it on ipodlounge since i kept checking the iskin website) and it arrived today!! it's great! since i have already banged up my ipod, it's a great relief to actually pack it in something and not have to look at the fruits of my stupidity (the dent in the case!)

My Lava edition came in today. I haven't used it much as I have only had it a few hours but my first impression is "better than I fear but not as good as I hoped." I think it will do the job just find though.

They are the little rubberized feet that raise the screen protector up off the iPod's screen. I think they are supposed to show unless the square cut out on mine iskin is was somehow cut larger than others. Personally, that doesn't bother me in the least. I found them useful for lining up the screen protector after getting the skin on the ipod.

You can also seem them on the black iskin above but not as pronounced as in my pics.

i just receieved my ghost iskin today (ordered 8/25 rec. 9/9) and the strange thing is that i never received an email saying that it shipped. and on their on the iskin website, it still says that it is on pre-order. but i got it today. maybe your iskin shipped and you dont even know it.

That was only, what, 7 days ago?

It still takes 7-10 days for it to ship, and you're well within that. It took mine about 9 for it to change from 'pre-order' to 'shipped'. Relax.
