View Full Version : loading used windows ipod on new windows computer

I am looking to get a new computer and load my ipod that's on my current pc onto the new pc. Will i be able to keep all my music on my ipod during this process or will i need to save my music elsewhere. if so, i would need to get my music off my ipod becuase i don't have it all on my computer anymore. thanks for the help

Welcome to the lounge. You need to set the iPod on "manually manage songs and playlist" here (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61131). This will stop the iPod from sync'ing with iTunes. You can leave the music on the iPod and use some software to copy the music back to your computer. Just use the 'download' section on the toolbar and check under your OS.

There's CopyPod, iPod Agent and others that will do this.
