I need some advice...

ok, I am getting a 15 gb ipod VERY soon and i have a warenty related question. I live in Canada and to buy a new ipod at the store is comes to about $688.00 with tax. I have decided to buy on eBay since most end at around $500.00 plus shipping (ususally $20.00). I was wondering, if I buy an ipod on ebay (sealed new in box) instead of in the store, if something goes wrong with it will it be harder to get it fixed? I mean if I get it at a store I can return it to the store; if I get it online I have to send it to apple. Does someone have some advice for me???

so you mean I could bring it somewhere to be serviced and they would do it if I lied to them and said I bought it from them? Also would it be better to bring it to somewhere like Best Buy or a local computer store? And if my ipod breaks once the warranty is done will I still be able to get it fixed? I just don't want to spend all this money and have the thing break and be unable to fix it.
