Even though i haventy made any posts, i've done some considerable research and have had a 3g ipod and now have a mini.

I think you should probably get a case first of all to protect it.
I learned that lesson the hard way when i kept my 3g ipod in my pocket, with my keys...-man it got really screwed up.

A good place to start looking is to just browse through this forum to see what's available. Most people will suggest getting some form of case (deciding which one will take some research based on your particular needs). You will probably want some better earphones as well, though you could always just try out the ones that come with the Mini and see if you like them before spending big bucks on better phones. There's also things like the dock, the iTrip, and external speakers that you can consider getting. So yeah, basically just browse thorugh this forum for some suggestions, and just see what you'd like to get as well as what you can afford.

Here's what I think you should get:

A Skin: My suggestion would be the Tunewear Icewear.
A Case: My suggestion would be the Mareware Sportsuit Convertible
A Dock: The Apple brand iPod mini dock
An FM Transmitter: The iTrip mini
A pair of portable speakers: The Altec Lansing iM mini speakers

I just got an ipod mini iskin today, man the the thing is awesome, i got the arctic color so u can see your ipod thru the case.
It protects it allot and the silicone is thick so it can take some abuse.
the only con is that theres no wheel protection, but i ordered a clear wheel protector today for the mini

Clear wheel protector? Got a link? Thanks.

Oh, depending on what you want, in addition to the above a new pair of head/earphones. Sony's MDR-G74SL is a useful upgrade.

I still have the protector from my mini on. I mistakenly took it off Goldie and almost had a heart attack. It's still on Pinkie. So far, it hasn't ruined anything.

I highly reccoment the Tunwear Icewear to the Arctic iSkin mini.

The Tunewear Surpasses the iSkin in many fields... the rubber is sturdier, it is made with better quality, and its also more clear than the Arctic iSkin. The iSkin is sort of a translucent white, while the Icewear is completely clear. It also has a more striking design than the iSkin mini.

Ok , not to put down the tunewear, but it dosent have a screen protector and dosent have a belt clip, and the strikin design thing is more of an oppinion. But the tunewear owns the iskin in one field, transaprency.

I love my iSkin. The screen protector it came with has really done its job. The Tunewear does show your iPod's color better being more trasparent. However, the Arctic iSkin gives the blue (or probably any color) an icy cool look. I highly reccomend the iSkin.
Here's a few more must-have iPod accessories (besides the iSkin).....
1) Head phones/earphones- Sony Ex-71s are great.
2) Speakers- The inMotion iMinis are made just for the iPod Mini and are sopossed to be good sounding like their original ones. They also have a built in dock which means they can charge your iPod too. If those are too expensive for you, I suggest the Creative TravelSound. My friend has them and they have a great sound while still being compact.
3) FM Transmitter- If you want to listen to your iPod in the car, try an iTrip Mini.
4) Dock- These are great if you want to listen through your stereo. The line out jack makes the sound clearer and louder than the headphone jack. (which brings me to the last must-have accessory)
5) Monster iCable- This is the cord that goes from your dock to your stereo. In my opinion, the iCable gives out a better sound than your basic $5 cable from RadioShack.

Hope this helps!!

lol i've never seen the need for a i skin if you use a case or vise versa
but cases wise the marware sport suit sleave is great (like a really decent version of the standard apple case that came with 3g's)
and skin wise use a iskin cos ive heard they're amasing (but their not my cup of tea to be honest, i like the mini just the way it is)
:-p

I just bought the apple arm band and if you are planning to do any form of exercising then this is a must. Dont let the price fool you it is definatly worth it.
