Today I bought a new Honda Element, and one of the first things I did was hook my my ipod to the sound system.....
OMG!!! Now I get to drive this great vehicle and listen to endless tunes of my own design.:D :D :D
Wonder if any other car makers are planning to have this capability???

Cruising down I-75 with the tunes cranked!!!

That's nice, but how did you do it?

If you get the upgraded sound system in the Element (at least in Canada, it's part of the "Y package") you get an auxiliary input jack - you can connect the iPod directly into the stereo system. The only thing you might need is a car charger for the iPod!

Well, BMW and MINI already have this capability but I assume that over the next few years many car manufacures will offer an MP3/iPod friendly sound system.

Enjoy the ride!!

Not really. With the Honda you just plug in. With the BMW and Mini you need to buy a rather expensive wiring adapter and disable your CD stacker to be able to achieve the same result.

Actually, with the Honda you have to get the upgraded sound system which is more $$$ than the AUX adapter from BMW(aprox.$50usd), and I am not sure what a CD stacker is (6-disc changer?) but I did not have to disable anything to get my AUX port to work.

How do you play the iPod with the AUX Port? What product connects the two?
