These are the headphones i have right now:

I really like them. They were cheap, they produce good sound quality (at least i think so?), they can fit into my pocket really easily, and they don't fall of of my ear basically ever, unless i tug on the cord. Here is my question: Are there any headphones with this same design, except with a straight head phone plug, not a 90 degree one like in the picture. It gets annoying because when i plug them into my ipod, the plug gets in the way of the hold button. Thanks

I have the same headphones, however I'm not getting my iPod for a few weeks.

Why can't you just turn the plug round, so its not over the hold switch?

I've yet to find an alternative pair of earphones to these, as expensive earphones wouldnt stay in my ears, so I hope there is an alternative before I get my iPod..

yeah that would seem like the obvious solution but i just have a natural tendency to put it to the right. like when i wrap the cord around the ipod once when i put it into my pocket, that just the way i put the plug. if i cant find a better alternative i'll just slide the plug around.

You could always just clip the angle plug off, and install your own straight unit. The quality would be a bit better as well.

What about adding a 3 foot headphone extension cable that has a straight connector at the end? You should be able to find one at any electronics store for pretty cheap.

I too have the same problem with my headphones and will be on the hunt for a 3 foot extension cable this weekend.

Cheers.

Will the quality be better because of that unit, or the fact that its not angled?

Thanks

The plug I linked to is solderless, so you just have to strip wires and attach them to screw terminals. It's a small plug, but the work's not too difficult. The quality of the plug itself is better than most molded units, but the angle generally doesn't affect sound one way or the other.

Would the plug be just as durable? Like would it rip off easily? Thanks alot for your help btw

The plug itself will be at least as durable (all metal), though you might want to add a piece of shrink-wrap tubing or wrap some electrical tape to act as a strain-relief between the cord and the plug (so tugging on the cord pulls on the strain-relief, not the connections).

A simpler solution is indeed (as shabbs pointed out) to get an extension cable (female to male), but the plug would be cleaner, as long as you are willing to cut up your cord

Well, it probably won't be as durable--the right angle plugs tend to be more durable than the straight line plugs. There is no difference in sound quality, but be prepared for an increased likelihood of damage--especially a short--to a straightline plug. I read something about this, and for the life of me can't remember where the article was (about a year ago, when I mentioned to Bob/Madpict that the only thing I didn't like about a particular phone was the straight jack, he mentioned he thought that those were supposed to hold up better--I actually did a search on it, and it turns out he was right, but don't tell him, it might go to his head).

I knew it was only a matter of time before you found that....You're slipping though--a year ago you would have found that in less than a day!!:D
