I'm about to install the belkin auto kit in my accord. I have an alpine cda-9807. The people at ultimate said i should get the monster stereo cables which are $25 or $40. Is it worth paying that much or will the $6 one from radio shack work just as well? THanks

All subjective, no special equipment testing set up.
I was curious so I took my monster cable I have for the dock kit out to my car and connected it. Couldn't tell the difference on the car. However; the home stereo was slightly noticeable when I tested the cables there. The Belkin cable actually sounded better to me than the monster cable on the home stereo though. I had bought one of those and it was sitting in my closet...

I was wondering about this myself. My blitzsafe VW adapter arrived last night and I was wondering if I should bother getting the monster cable to use in the car or just the cheaper variety.

I use a radio shack 5.00 cable and it sounds fine. When you're crusin' down the freeway ( or turnpike, depending on where you live) there is enough noise around you that you are not gonna notice a difference. Just 1 mans opinion

i have the blitzsafe adapter in my bmw and i have the ipod connected through a dock. As i just upgraded from a 3G 20GB to a 4G 40GB I was initially using my 3g 20gb in a 3g 20gb dock. When i got the 4G 40GB I thought of using new dock, but I found that the iPod was sitting firmly in the dock (it would wobble slightly when i made turns or accelerated). I solved this issue by using the 40GB 3G dock with a piece of double sided tape (probably 1/2 of 1 mm in width) across the back, leaving on one side of the protective covering. The ipod is I now have a firm seal when I place the iPod in the dock and it doesn't move anymore. This is a great solution and it is easy to take out the iPod and change songs and put it back in while driving!

yeah, $5 cables from wal-mart will work just as well, unless you've got a competition setup, in which case you wouldn't even use an ipod.
