What are the alternatives that he suggests?

I have the aux-pod and love it, it works great. There is the aux-pod (www.pac-audio.com), ipod2car (www.ipod2car.com) both about $190 and then there is blitzsafe and another one I can't think of right now. Blitzsafe is just an aux adapter with RCA inputs. THe aux-pod and ipod2car both allow you to control your ipod though you stereo and charge your ipod as well.
