Just a simple test on both earphones when I receive my 4G ipod.

I tried a few mp3, such as corrs, bon jovi, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Queen....etc

both earphones without sponge on them.

here is my findings:

overall impression:
ipod's one is warmer and has more bass, while 888 is higher in treble

Sound field:
888 is wider and instruments are more separate.

Sound volume:
888 seems to produce lower intensity sound, but doesn't matter when you increase the volume.

Clarity:
888 sounds more clear than the ipod's one. Ipod's one shows a bit blur in drum and accoustic sound

Voice:
ipod is much much better than 888 in this field. Since 888's nature is cold and rather laid back, making the voice not close to original sound...

My choice:
Ipod's one for sure! Since I here vocal song most of the time, Ipod default earphone is my weapon of choice. However, 888 shines on accoustic sound.

If I were at home, I won't choose either one.....I stick to my Sennheiser HD600
