I have an Alpine HU with AI-Net, I was wondering which one I needed to control my iPod from my HU, the ICElink or the PIE ai-net converter or both. If I just bought the PIE converter would that allow me to control the ipod from the HU or would I have to manually do it through the pod? I know I need the ICELink AND the PIE converter for the ICELink to work. But if the only thing the ICElink really does is "hold" and "charge" my ipod and don't want to shell out $170.00.

Thanks.

The AI-Net only adds RCA jacks to your head unit. This lets you connect any device that can be attached using RCA jack cables.

It does not control your ipod. I use this on my car and I have to change music from the Ipod.
