Firstly I'm new here and I appologise for cross posting (I posted in the 'mini problems' thread first) but on further browsing this thread is probably more likely to get me an answer.

I have a new iPod mini, the latest version of EphPod and am running win98SE. My 1st gen 10GB iPod works fine I think I formatted to a windows format on someone elses computer when I got it. The mini is recognised by windows and by EphPod as a removable drive but EphPod doesn't think it's formatted right and can't create the file 'ipod_control'. I tried downloading iPod update and reformatting the mini on another guys computer but there is no option to format it to windows.

- Can you fomat a mini to windows?
- Do I need MacOpener?
- Is anybody running a mini on win98SE?

FYI: Cross-posting is not allowed, I've deleted your other message thread which had zero replies.

I'm not sure about the mini, but I had the same problem with my 4G 20Gig iPod on Win98SE. It was an easy fix though...just connect your iPod to your computer, open the drive that recognizes your iPod as a Removable Drive, make sure you have enabled viewing hidden files and folders, and you should see the 'ipod_control' folder. Delete the folder, then run EphPod and it should build the database without error.
