This script works well on most of my mp3's but it gives me an error on allot of other ones. Why is that? It says "usage: cp [-R [-H......etc" sometimes it says somthing else but I can't remember what.
Whats the difference between the mp3's the script works on and the ones it doesn't?
thanks

I am not the author, but I would guess that some of the track names are not being quoted correctly (ie, not using the quoted form of qualifier and then the errors are not being trapped correctly. These should be script issues.
Does it have an issue with file names beginning with a dash? Containing spaces?

I am the author. The script does not find tracks by filename or trackname, but by size in bytes. When there are multiple tracks with the same size in bytes, the script prompts the user with the available options and allows the user to choose the correct track.
Alex, you need to be specific. It would, for example, help to know what the "something else" error is.

Focusing only on this error message, On some mp3's it gives me the option to choose the correct song. When I get the error message above, it doesn't do anything. All i'm left with is the folder of the band in the location i designated.

well, you can probably best answer the question about the mp3s - is there a difference between the ones which import successfully, and those which don't? e.g., are some ripped by iTunes, others not? Do some have custom icons, artwork or metadata others don't? Is there a pattern at all in the files that work and those which don't?

This is the info on one that doesn't work, I'm not sure if this helps at all.
