The new iTrip (iTrip 2) is supposed to be able to work with the mini. Are you sure you are reading the directions correctly?

the one that supports the 3G is the itrip 2.

I don't know how you pull your music from your computer into iTunes, but basically find out where you downloaded the stations to and add it to your iTunes library. What I did is set up a playlist with the iTrip stations so it can be easier to find when I'm driving. Also, a good thing is to edit all your Smart Playlists to "Song name is not iTrip" or "Artist is not Griffin" or something to that sort...this is so you won't hear the fm frequency after one of your songs...

Set your radio to the frequency and follow the directions (make sure you press "play" not "enter"...

hope this helps.

take itrip out of box
marvel at packaging
marvel at coolness
got eat cookies and milk
insert cd or got to griffintechnology website(preferred)
download what it says to (may be in a zip file)
open zip or open whatever you downloaded
put the files (conveniently titled "itrip stations" or "euro stations")
in the folder you want them (music or ipod, etc.)
go to itunes
listen to some music
more milk and cookies
go to file
go to add file
go to the itrip stations folder
click on it
it should add to itunes
make a playlist for your itrip stations and add your itrip stations to it
download the stations to your ipod (the same way you add music)
put itrip on ipod
marvel at it's beauty (well, not really cuz they don't match)
go to car (or radio--bring cookies, this may take a while)
find an fm static station on your radio
take your ipod and go to your playlists
find itrip stations
find the same station your radio is tuned to
press "play"
then press it again when the light blinks rapidly
this takes a few practice trials, but once it works the radio station will go "silent"
go to a song
start playing that song
voila
enjoy your cookies

hope this helps.

There is a nice video to watch at griffintechnology.com under support for the iTrip. It steps you through how to use the device.

Both models of iTrip will work just fine with the mini. Only difference is how they look.
