OK, my fairly new, refurbished 40Gb is not even 1/2 way full. I am thinking that I'd prefer the thinner 20Gb- especially if it was a 4G.
So, I'm thinking about selling or trading my 40Gb set-up- iPod, 2 docks, and an ice iSkins silicon jacket (with belt clip, etc.) for either a similar 20Gb package or enough to buy a 20Gb 4G with.
I have not thought the details of this out, but would be interested in talking with anyone interested or hearing any advice you wish to impart (like, how can I do this without getting ripped off!)
My email is 'madkins00seven@cox.net (but use the number 7 instead of the word), or do it here, but please do not PM me- I always seem to miss those!
If you want to research me a bit, I use the same e-mail address on both Amazon.com and eBay.
I would trade you my perfect condition (when I say perfect I mean it too) 3rd gen 20 gigger. It has a dock, apple earphones, remote, firewire, etc., etc. I'm sure you weren't wanting another 3rd gen though...

I've certainly thought about just swapping for a 3G- and you'd be able to keep your headphones, remote, etc. (I figure we'd both keep those parts that would work as well with either device, and I was planning on keeping the remote no matter what), but if I DID do a swap like that, I'd be loosing out on the cost difference of the devices AND the costs of the iSkin and the second dock- a little too steep of a penalty for me.
My iPod is not perfect- it has some general scuffing that they can get, but nothing out of the ordinary. it has been in the iSkins most of its life and it has a screen protector as well.
So- I AM interested... can you sweeten the pot at all?

Actually, as I think about this, I suspect I can indeed sell my 40 for enough to buy a new 4G 20 and have enough left for other stuff... hmmm...

For a refurbished used ipod, i doubt you can get more than 299 for it. If you lower it to around 200 - 250, I'm sure you will raise some eyebrows. If not and you stay around that 300 mark, you won't get it sold. Just a suggestion.

Btw, you are not here to gain profit. You are here to let your equipment go to help other ipodloungers. If you want to gain money, I would suggest you try another forum whom will sell you a "mall ad" for your to sell to make profit.
The point of selling stuff is to get some sort of profit. This forum isn't a charity.

First, I would doubt most posters to a classified ad section would agree to this philosophy, but in my case, I don't want to profit so much as I don't want to lose out too badly.

I have seen recent ads (but not necessarily here) for used units at well over $300, but I was thinking more along the lines of about $250 for the iPod, $20@ for the docks, $10 for the iSkin or something. That would get me a 4G, and I'd only need to buy one more dock and a simple sheath/case to get back to 'even'.
I have already ordered the 4G and it supposedly shipped today. Once it is here and running right, I'll be putting my 40G up for sale.
THANK YOU to everyone who posted- each of you helped me figure out what I wanted to do in this!
