I know. I really want the new In Motion speakers, but they are quite pricey. Plus, I just bought a dock for a stereo setup. My birthday is coming up soon though....

I don't know why someone would want this setup. The old inMotion set works with ALL iPods. This one looks like it only will work with the mini.
I know... It will work with other models through the aux-in jack, but I'm talking about the dock (which charges the iPod while in use with the ac adaptor).
Cheers!

Probably because they are styled to match/complement the iPod Mini (specifically the silver Mini).

well i would take it cuase its designed for the mini at its 20 bux cheaper (although i think you can get the in motion for 99 online....) ....
but i would use either the in motion of the immini becuase my stereo is in another room where we play pool, so at least when we are playing pool one room can have the radio/cd/tv and the pool room have the ipod etc ... (or if im workin at a job and i want to hear my music can just whip it out)... :-P

just gotta wait to pay off these stupid bills first!!!

*cries* *needs money*
Those are so cool too. Of course I live in such a small apartment that I just turn on iTunes and all is good, but those are cool anyway.

I prefer my big white ones. Even though my mini slips around in it, it is simpler looking and I love that kind of simplicity. The new ones are tacky, IMO

I don't see when something like this would be useful. You can't use it outside--not loud enough. You won't need it in a dorm room--you have a stereo with larger speakers/you have a computer.
When would anyone be so space-starved that they'd need a dedicated speaker setup for their mini? Who's the target market? Obviously these things ARE selling so speak up, you people you! I'm confused!

I brought mine (the original white ones) to the lake last weekend. They're great for outdoor sitting around a picnic table use where there is no power or it is just inconvienant to lug something larger.
Cheers!

Don't they need their own seperate power though or can they run at any decent volume/quality off of the mini's headphone amp?

The sound quality on the inMotions are phenomenal. I don't use anything else but this for listening to my mini. The sound is great and can be turned up VERY loud, they are small, and they are very useful for everday things.

I guess the new ones aren't white enough ;)

They can either run off batteries or be plugged into the wall.
The volume level is good either way, but if it's plugged into the wall, it'll charge your iPod (on battery power, it doesn't).
Cheers!

Just to clarify;
The speakers run on 4 AA batteries - not the iPod's battery.

Ah, thanks.
Hmm.... I guess I could see its functionality for very limited use, but it still seems kind of odd to me. Then again, I'm the type of guy that wants to run it through a $3000 speaker setup so maybe I'm not the right guy to be talking.

I have the 3G and the mini, so I think the older inMotion for the original iPods will be my choice as you can get a mini adapter for free plus shipping.

The original inMotion now ships with the adaptor for the mini included in the box.
Cheers!

I think there are available now. I just tried ordering them @ the Apple store and they said 7-10 days. Anyone tried these out yet? I was thinking either the iMinis or the Creative TravelSound. What do you guys think?
