iPod to Sony CDX-C5000X?

Newbie question...

I really want an iPod but need to justify it to myself and "she who must be obeyed." If I can hgook it into my car stereo and avoid the iTrip I will have justified it to myself. If I can justify to myself...well then s**w her :) !

I have a Sony CDX-C5000X unit in my swingin' 97 Caravan. Crutchfield says you can hook a CD or MD changer to it. It has 2 pair pre-amp outputs but no AUX input. Here is the crutchfield link:

What say you iPod experts? Can I hook a cable to the back end of this thing an justify an iPod purchase?

i think you need xa 300 sony head unit aux converter
going to run you about $100

i'm trying to find a cheaper way myself
right now i'm just using itrip and got sony x-m600

I have almost the same head unit...cdx-c5050x and all i did was unplug my cd changer and bought a i cable and ran the rca's into where my changer hooked up and hooked the other end up to my dock...works like a charm..
