Hi I have two questions:
1.) Will there be any Earphones & Remote product coming out meant just for the mini? Or do you just buy the regular one that's out now?
2.) Is the Earphones & Remote product really worth it? I mean if the mini is so small what's the point? And the remote doesn't have an LCD screen..hmm..

no, not really. it has no screen, you can't use it to control many functions on the ipod, just play pause forward back...not worth your dough

I agree with soldier. Over priced for a pretty bad set of earphones and a remote with no LCD. If someone makes an LCD one, I would consider getting one.

IMHO, if you -don't- know your own songs on your own iPod, then you don't need a remote at all. I use the remote for audiobooks and sometimes even CDs that I listen to. And I find the headphones to suit me just fine.
But I do agree with you guys. They -are- overpriced.

I got myself the remote, only to realise that a remote without any LCD screen is indeed useless........sigh........

I got the remote because I wanted an inline volume control for a pair of high quality ear buds (the Sony ex71). IMO, it works well on playlists. I don't need an LCD screen on the remote: I just need something to control the volume, play/pause, next/back as I usually have a playlist on shuffle or a CD on album play. If I need to see what's playing, I can always look at my iPod.
If you want just the remote, there are some good deals on just the remote on eBay. You can get a new one or a "slightly used one" for much less than at the Apple store and you don't have to get the earbuds with it.
My only complaint is that Apple probably should have made it white instead of chome as the metal shows fingerprints.
