automatic 30 dollars off ipod??!!

Looked up on educational discounts.
The guy at the apple store said that you need to be a college student or have a college student with a school ID and drivers license order one for you.

Well, i checked online (im not a college student) on the apple store online and checked the college that my friends going to. he gave me his school id, etc. and i was ready to input the info but after i put an ipod in the cart for 270$ It took me directly to the
credit card screen! I got an email today that the ipod has been shipped. Total price=270.....

That means anyone can get an educational discount as long as they order online....

or do they check on a later date?

yeah, it's depends on how you are thinking. if you are really a student, you go ahead. but if you're not, well... but sometimes, you need to save money. I understand. obviously, Apple online store doesn't check out whether you are a student or not.

yea, as i said i had someone give me his school id, etc. the person at the applestore said i could. Just saying, most people wouldnt hesistate to "lie" and get 30 bucks off

I am a student and I didn't know about this when I bought my pod last week. Does anyone know if I can get Apple to give me the discount after the fact?

yeah, they're willing to do that. if you purchased online they may require you to fax a copy of your school ID or bill. i bought mine at the apple store. i went back and showed them my ID, they copied the info from it and reimbursed me the 11% discount or whatever. the woman at the store said they're always willing to do it, but they prefer that you do it within the 14 days after purchasing the merchandise because in the computer they do it as a return/resale.
