ive heard all the rave about them and how good they are, but what i want to know is that will these earphones provide deep, GOOD bass on my iPod ? cus im a basshead and it matters to me especially since approximately 98% of my 2,886 songs on my iPod are hip hop and rap. there others 2 percent is Techno/trance.

Question: so will the Shure E2c's provide outstanding, clear sound, deep and outstanding bass ?

Mine should arrive any day now. I hope they sound good. I have heard the bass is good. Maybe not extremely tight, but good and definitely noticeable.

If you are really into bass than I would suggest the Sony MDR-EX51LPs or the Sony MDR-EX71SLs. They provide a ton of bass, good isolation, and are only $40-$50.

Sony MDR-EX51LP (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=GEH65TlXCDf6iHhdoYHw7nZbYZsPdop0wAM=?Pro ductSKU=MDREX51LP&Dept=acc_Headphones&CategoryName=acc_Headphones_Fontopia%2e%2fEarbud)
Sony MDR-EX71SL (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=GEH65TlXCDf6iHhdoYHw7nZbYZsPdop0wAM=?Pro ductSKU=MDREX71SL&Dept=acc_Headphones&CategoryName=acc_Headphones_Fontopia%2e%2fEarbud)

I'm not too sure about Shure's products, I have never really used them. I wouldn't doubt the Sony's because of their price. I would say they are the most popular earphones on the iPodlounge, next to the Stock earphones.

The E3 does not provide more bass than the E2. The E3's bass is tighter and deeper, but it's not as "boomy" as the E2's. If you like bass, you're better off with the E2 than the E3.

That being said, none of these phones (even the Sony EX71) will provide as much bass as an over-the-ear headphone. However, I would have to say the EX71 is boomier than the E2. It's also muddier and less deep, and the overall sound is not as good.

The conventional wisdom is that if you want strong, boomy bass without losing accuracy in a canalphone, you need to go with a double-driver phone like the Shure E5.

No you shouldn't. They provide a truer, more tame bass. I myself prefer good, thumpy bass and i was disappointed at both the E2 and E3's performance in that area. I would actually, as weird as this sounds, recommend the Apple in-ear headphones. Not the stockies that come in the box, the $40 ones. As long as they fit your ear, which they don't for many people, you get great sound and big, heavy bass.

Yup. Big, heavy, crappy bass...

im having a dilemma over the shure E2`s or the ety 6`s, all i listen to is thumping techno so bass is essential,

does anyone know which is the better for it out of these 2?

i would like some ety6i`s but i dont want 'mug me i have an ipod' white earphones and i also wanna wait and see if the hype is true...

I ordered the Shure E2s through Microphone Solutions and sent them back. I had no idea how far they went into your ear and how much it gave my a headache!! Since I couldn't get a good seal, I don't know about the bass. All I'm saying is that if you've never tried in-ear phones, these may not be a good place to start!
