Hi there

i have read the sticky in this forum and searched extensively but still confused, anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

I wish to give my 2nd Gen Mac iPod to my sister as a gift.

1. To make it a windows ipod do i need to get xplay or does the latest apple updater convert it to windows?

2. Once converted do i have to use MusicMatch or will iTunes for windows work with a 2nd gen ipod?

looking forward to your replies

thanks

darren

Unless you have a PC you're not really going to be able to do anything to "help" getting it ready for her if she's running on a PC.
The Ipod doesnt have to be reformated for windows to see it, but if she's going to be purchasing music with itunes or just using it full time on a PC, she does not need xplay. She'll just plug it into her pc, reformat the drive, run the ipod installer and off she'll go.

mdobilas,

thanks for that ... so what you are saying is .... there is no difference in using 2nd gen mac formatted iPod on a PC to using 3G? ... is that right?

thanks again
