i just ordered my 4g 20gig ipod and i really want some high end earphones with it, so i limited my choices to the Shuer E2C and the B&O A8 earphones. Which one do you guys recommend? thanks

I would go with the Shure E2c, very nice pair. They get the job done very well.

Mine just came this morning, and they are worlds above the crap I was using before. I have them on right now, and with the right fit, they are very comfortable. The bass is good, and everything else sounds good also. When you get used to them, and listen to your favorite songs, you start to notice differences, that make you question why you even used crappy headphones before. I was gonna get the E3's, but really c couldn't afford it at the time. These sound great though, and were definitely worth it.

Mine were new, shipped for $71 from microphone solutions, so you can definitely find them for cheaper than the $100 MSRP.

Muzak Man,
How long did it take for you to get your Shures? I ordered mine last Wed. and haven't gotten an e-mail saying they've shipped or anything.

You're still okay. I never got an email saying anything, I guess because I ordered over the phone. They took a little while, and I spent a few days waiting for the mailman to come, thinking for sure they'd be there. Today, UPS knocked on my door, and they came. They said it would either be UPS or USPS, so I didn't know what to expect.

Give it till Friday at least, and if they don't come on friday, they will probably come monday at the latest.

I'd go with the Shures. I didn't like them because they didn't fit my ear, even with the smallest pads. Then again, I've always had trouble getting earbuds to fit (I guess my ears are small). Plus, there wasn't enough "thumpy" bass for my tastes. I stuck with my Apple in-ear headphones. But I'd go with the Shures over the B&Os.

I say go for the etymotic er-6i's coming mid august
specially made for the ipod to compensate for it's lack of bass

here's a pic:

http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/images/er6i-ipod2.jpg

matches the white color of your ipod
It'll retail for $149 but I'm sure you can find em online for much cheaper.

Seriosly, those having a white cord would be reason enough for me not to get them. I got so sick of having a white cable flashing around wherever I went, when I was using the stock buds. Whenever I wore black, it was like a huge streak accross my clothes. It's not a fasion thing or anything, I could care less. It was just so bright and noticeable. I didn't need everyone thinking I had an iPod.

e-mail Microphonesolutions (their adress is on their website www.microphonesolutions.com) and give them these two e-mail adresses (and phone number with one of them...) and say you found the Shure E2s for a lower price.

http://www.proaudiosuperstore.com/shure_earphones.html phone # 888-869-0770

http://www.noonshopper.com/?s=product&a=0&pid=48719

Since the total price with shipping on those sites are $73.80, they'll give them to you for $71.00 with free shipping. They are great with responding to your e-mails quickly. (tho I had to twice but they got back to me on the second one) My Shures came in a week and a day. Great place. I'm glad I gave them my service.
