I have one 3G/40 GB iPod and want to connect it to a home and work PC with iTunes. Do I just install iTunes on the work PC and go for it, or is there some other tricks. I will only be sync'ing the iPod on my Home PC. The work PC will be used for playback only and using the iPod as a portable HD.

You will have to put the iPod on manual here (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61131). Make sure you put it on 'manually manage songs and playlist'. This way it won't auto sync and delete your iPod. You will be able to use it as a HD and won't have to transfer the library to the computer. You will most likely have to use the setup disk so that iTunes will recognize the iPod.

I have two computers and had to do it that way and I don't have any music on the second one.
