I have just ordered my Shure E2s. I can't wait to get them. I am concerned about one thing though. Is the sound isolation on the Shures really strong. I want to be able to hear is someone who is sitting right next to me is talking to me. So how much can you hear with the Shures on and the iPod volume on pretty low?

I hope it's strong as hell. I am waiting for my E2's also.

I tried the E3's in a local store. There were 2 store employees talking to eachother 3 feet in front of me as I inserted the E3's, and it was like wearing earplugs. I seriously couldn't hear a damn thing they were saying. This was before I had the music on.

It was b*tchin...

If you have somebody next to you (and have the earphone seated correctly) with the ipod off.
you may hear just a little. but if you have music on that's all you are going to hear!:)
