Hi I've just bought a click wheel ipod whilst on holiday in america and was just wondering if you could answer some questions:

1. If I load up the itunes software over here will I be able to use it in the UK (where I'm from)?

2. Will the american cd play in the uk, is it like a dvd where it only works in certain regions?

3. Does anyone know the laws concerning bringing an ipod into the uk from america? e.g. how I can avoid import tax, whether I should take the box and the rest of it or not

4. Why do birds suddenly appear... oops, didn't mean to put that one in

Thanks, Ed

Ed,

answers as follows:

1. The itunes software is the same everywhere as far as I can make out. You basically access the music store through itunes and decide which one to log onto depending on where you are from. I live in Hong Kong, but have a credit card still with a UK billing address and I am able to use the itunes store without any problems, apart from it being too addictive.

2. All CD's will play everywhere. It is not like DVD's. I have bought loads of CD's when I have been on holiday in the states and they play everywhere. The only thing you may have issues with when buying CD's is the copy protection. There are ways around this, but it takes a litlle time and sometimes the end sound quality os affected.

3. If I were you, I would ditch the box and just bring the ipod and the extras back, with the extras in your main case and just have the ipod on listening to it. Nobody will stop you, not in my experience anyway.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

Paul
