Hi All

First post - great forum, great device eh!

Anyhows.. here's my question.

I have recently purchased two iPods, one for myself and one for my wife. Both are 3rd gen I believe, one's a 15GB model and the other is a 20GB model.

I purchased them within the US on a recent business trip and am delighted with them - 1st class equipment. However, is there an easy way to manage my/our music from 1 laptop to two iPods?

I only have a 20GB drive on my laptop and don't want this to become full with my wifes music. She has a desk based PC but with no USB2.0 or Firewire port - hence I don't mind managing her list on my PC. What in your experience is the best way to manage the two devices please...?

Once she has the music on her iPod am I able to remove it from my laptop? If so, what then happens when I resync her iPod to add some more music for her?

Apologies if this is a novice's question... any advice greatly appreciated, thanks.

John

Welcome to the iPodlounge.

Put the iPod on manually manage songs and playlist here (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61131). Then you can drag-n-drop the music onto her iPod with deleting it. You can then delete the music off of your HD. You will need to at least back up the music library.

If her computer has usb 1.1, she can use the iPod on her computer. She needs to get the usb cable, it's backward compatible.

Assuming you have Windows XP on both PCs just get a $20 firewire card for her PC and quickly plug it in.

You spent this much on two iPods jsut spend a bit more and get the card... make life simpler.
