I am thinking of buying an ipod(bet im not the 1st person to say this am i:rolleyes: ) and want to use it with windows ME and install a firewire port so this is possible, is there a wire that i need to buy(or does it come with it) for me to connect between the ipod and the firewire port? I have read somewhere recently that an adaptor is needed when connecting an ipod to a firewire in a pc.

sorry if this is posted in the wrong section but couldnt find anything which covered this

thanks

First, welcome to the iPodlounge.

The firewire cable comes with the iPod.

To connect the iPod to windows ME here's some info you can read: http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6581 and this thread may help http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=38427

The adapter is a 6 pin to 4 pin adapter you use when you only have the 4 pin port to connect to. If your firewire card will have a 6 pin port, you will not need to use the adapter. One does come in the package with the iPod anyway.
