Hello,

I recently got into this whole iPod craze a few weeks ago. I'm very surprised how much I picked up in such a short time just by reading. It's been exciting but also frustrating at the same time.
For example, whenever I try to eject my iPod from within iTunes it automatically reboots my PC but when I "Safely Remove Hardware" it's fine. Is there any way to stop that? What could be the reason for it? Has it happened to any other PC users here? Thanks.

Andy

Yes, I have Windows XP and the latest version of iTunes 4.6.

I had this same problem.

Run the updater and restore to defaults, charge the unit, and then go through the install process again.

At least this fixed it for me.

Andy, did that fix your problem? Perhaps I should give it a try...
Mine doesn't restart, but it does give me an error message whenever I eject the iPod through iTunes without then using the normal Eject Hardware...

(brand new iPod :-D , iTunes 4.6, Windows 2000...)

Sorry about that. I haven't checked my account in a while. Yea, I haven't actually tried solving the problem, but rather I've avoided it. I stopped clicking the "Eject iPod" icon at the bottom right of iTunes and go to Controls and select "Eject iPod" there and it works fine. However I bet if I still click the icon it will reboot. Thanks for all the help! You guys are the best!
