I've had my ipod for about 6 months now and I've had this probelm since I first got my ipod. When I dock my ipod into my computer it takes my computer around 10 minutes to recognize it. About every four times I dock it I'll get the windows blue screen of death. This is becoming a real pain and I try to avoid docking my ipod whenever possible. Due to this my calendar and to-do lists are always out of date and I've always got music on my computer which I havn't gotten a chance to transfer to my ipod. One possible reason I think this may be happening is because I don't have an actual fire wire card. I have a fire wire port in my video card which I use for my ipod. If anyone knows if this could be my problem or if they know what else it might be I'd really appriciate it. Thanks.

That would probably have something to do with it. Firewire cards aren't expensive now, I would reset my iPod and if that doesn't work, get a firewire card.

What video card is it? I've not heard of a FireWIre port in a video-card, only a sound-card (Creatives' Audigy).

It's an ATI radeon 9700 pro. It has two fire ports. I also have the creative audigy sound card which has one fire port.
