Using the dock with a skin

I just discovered that if you pop off the top cover of the G3 dock,(fairly easy with a small screwdriver and with minimal damage) , my iPod drops in just fine with its iSkin evo on.
It is necessary to cut away the flap on the case that protects the dock connector, but that?s it. . It fits damn near perfectly!
I am thinking of using this as part of my car installation.:cool:

I have the same setup but I haven't mutilated the iSkin. The Protectoflap fits perfectly if you bend it all the way back first.
